I was asked to post some more fashion-related articles on the site so I hopped on the computer and went to an old favorite of mine, Jak & Jil. They’re always good for something off the wall, classy and fabulous. I stumbled on this photo-documentary of Anna Dello Russo getting ready for the Vogue Paris ball. (If you don’t know who she is, click here for some background information.) I’m planning a Black Cotillion here at Penn State so I thought that this was more than fitting due to what’s going on in my head at the moment.
I have never been a real fan of head-wear itself, but I am in love with the classy yet raw sexuality that is achieved when women wear masks to a formal event. This probably stems from the fact that I saw Nicole Kidman naked in Eyes Wide Shut at a young age. I am going to go out on a limb and say that I was sexually imprinted with those images but eh, what can you do? I’m not going to complain. Anyway, here are the rest of the pictures. Enjoy.

After first showing you the 30th anniversary Stussy G-Shock DW-6900 yesterday, we can give you a more detailed look at the timepiece today. The watch comes in a shiny black colorway with all metal parts coming in metallic blue, matching the dial. The backlight of course features the Stussy logo, the watch strap features a special Stussy 30th anniversary logo and further details are engraved on the back of the watch case. Whats up fiends? Has anyone else noticed the trend of celebrity WTFism? From Kelis to Solange, celebs have been getting dressed and showing up at red carpet/black tie events like they have lost their minds. Look at how Naomi Campbell showed up to the Vanity Fair/Gucci party at the Cannes Film Festival.
She looks like she just left an orgy with a spider, an ostrich and a birthday cake. I know that in this era of Gagaism, many celebs feel the need to push the limits of fashion but this is not how you do it. Come on Ms Campbell, first you get in trouble for smacking the paparazzi and you show up to an event looking like a sun tanned Kelis?! This is not a good look. You’re still sexy but this is not a good look.
True fashion comes not from mindlessly imitating mundane storefront mannequins, but from showcasing the cloths of eclecticism that are gained through time and travel.
New York fiends… shopping fiends…manly fiends, you now have a new place to shop. Coach just opened up a new men’s store. I know that some guys feel a little weirded out when they have to walk through hand bags, lingerie and the old wrinkly ladies who like to hang out dangerously close to the latter in order to get to the shoes, wallet or other accessory that they saw in GQ. Well fear no more, Coach has heard your prayers and has opened a new store on Bleecker Street. To make things even better, they’ve set up shop in the same stretch as other guy friendly stores like Ralph Lauren , Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger. Now while your girlfriend is busy running around buying Christian Louboutin heels and over-priced bags, you now have one more place to shop like a man. Check them out at 370 Bleeker St.

I’ve been wondering how long it would take for Bria Murphy to get into the modeling business. If you don’t know who she is, she is the daughter of Eddy and Nicole Murphy. She is a gorgeous young woman and I knew that she could do bigger things than date Pleasure P. She recently signed to LA Models and is now being managed by Jerome Martine. If his name sounds familiar it is because he is the man in charge of the careers of Eva Marcelle, Tyrese and other greats. So if you were born with unnaturally pretty facial features and like to try on clothes, he is definitely doing extraordinary things in the business. These are the first images that she has taken professionally and from the looks of it, she’ll be around for a while. Congrats Ms Murphy.

It is with great sadness that report that famed fashion designer Alexander McQueen committed suicide yesterday. I would rather not dwell on the details of his death because they are sure to be everywhere, instead, let us celebrate his work. This is his full Summer 2010 fashion show. Long live the fashion.
